In the world of sports today, the real competition isn’t just between teams—it’s between the stadium and the living room. With HD screens, multi-angle replays, and snacks just a few steps away, watching the game from home can seem like the ultimate experience. So, how do you convince fans to leave their couches and fill the stands?
Duke Football asked a better question: How do we make the stadium the best seat in the house?
They didn’t want to settle. They wanted to lead—so they leaned into innovation and brought PM1 in to help bring their vision to life.
Duke knew they eventually wanted to renovate Wallace Wade Stadium to enhance the fan experience. But before committing to a massive overhaul, they asked a bold question:
“Can we build this as a temporary structure?”
Our answer? Absolutely –Turning ambitious ideas into reality is what we do.
PM1 worked closely with Duke and their architects to design a custom, elevated seating structure that sat over the existing stands. This wasn’t just about adding more seats—it was about creating a space that offered a completely new and immersive experience for fans.
And so, the Devils Deck was born.
Why It Works
The Devils Deck provided Duke with the premium fan zone they were looking for—complete with unbeatable views and an atmosphere that immediately resonated with fans. But it gave them more than just a cool space—it gave them flexibility.
With the Devils Deck, Duke was able to:
✅ Test-drive a long-term idea in a real-world setting
✅ Collect feedback and measure the impact firsthand
✅ Showcase the space to sponsors and stakeholders before investing in permanent renovations
It’s a smarter approach—one that draws fans in and generates excitement for what’s to come.
More Than a Seat—It’s a Statement
At PM1, we’re not just in the business of building bleachers or platforms. We’re here to build moments, solve problems, and bring ideas to life—whether it’s a national cheer competition, a presidential event, or a game day experience that fans will talk about long after.
The Devils Deck is just one example of what’s possible when vision meets execution.
