VIP Trailer Rental Versus a Two-Story VIP Platform

Another option to a VIP Trailer: A double-decker VIP platform.

We talked about it with the client after the show, and came up with three reasons you shouldn't rent a VIP Trailer(which is also three really great reasons to rent a double-decker VIP platform!)

  1. Cost.
Let's be honest. $25,000 is a lot to spend. Our platform came in under half of that. (Get a quote.)
  2. Configuration.
Our client wanted a bar on both levels, and this offered them the space they needed for both. We can easily expand the length and width wherever necessary - but when it's not necessary, it can also contract.
  3. Uneven Terrain.
The photo above shows the slight depression (OK, it's a HUGE gulch!) that the system was able to overcome with no issues. Trailers can't be parked in like this, so the sight lines wouldn't have been the same.

We did come up with one reason you'd want a VIP Trailer, as it applies to our mobile stages rentals as well: time required for installation. It took 8 guys a full day to build this one, and half a day to tear it out. The install and strike times for the mobile are easily half of that, if not more. So if you've got tight schedules, opt for an engineered solution. If you've got a day on either side, consider a platform.
